Lamps

If you are replacing a #44 lamp, it is a good idea to use a #47 in its place. It draws less current, so the power supply and the connectors are stressed less, and the plastics do not warp over time from the heat. Of course the #47 is slightly dimmer, but believe me, it is worth it.

Example for 100 #44 lamps versus 100 #47 lamps:

100 x #44 = 0.250 A x 100 x 6.3 V = 157.5 W

100 x #47 = 0.150 A x 100 x 6.3 V = 94.5 W
